Dakhla, or rather what I saw of it, was disappointing. I had anticipated an interesting time browsing the markets and enjoying meals of fresh fish. Instead, my hotel room was barely acceptable, food was poor (apart from one snack bar) and there was no convenient access to the beaches and wind surf camps. Based on my experience, I suggest that only people who are there for windsports will like Dakhla. The airport on departure was a pleasant surprise - quick and uncomplicated with friendly staff. Best part of my trip was the excellent view from the plane of the coasts from Southern Marocco / Spain / Portugal / South West France and then a picturesque arrival at dusk to Orly.
